Science Writer, Project Manager
My name is Lorenzo Mannella and I am a science writer with a background in plant biotechnology, science journalism and project management. As project manager at the University of Bologna, I take care of research projects in nature based solutions (NBS) and sustainable food systems. I worked as fixer and freelance journalist for Wired, Motherboard, Galileo and Maker Faire Rome.
I work with public and private institutions to engage a broad audience. I am author of hundreds of magazine articles. I organize science/technology communication events.
I manage technology transfer and networking events for ERDF funded research projects in sustainable food packaging, industrial symbiosis and circular economy.
I address scientific and planning issues in Horizon 2020 projects, develop solutions to meet deadlines, valorise research strategies and make an impact on society.
